Water pipe maintenance services

hüdrandi paigaldus

Why is the maintenance service needed?

Regular and effective maintenance of pipes helps to ensure that clean, fresh drinking water always reaches consumers and extends the lifespan of pipes.

Ice pigging

Ice pigging is a technology where a mass of ice flakes (slurry ice), made from a mixture of clean drinking water and table salt, is pumped through pipes.

The ice pigging technology can be used to maintain any pipes, from the food industry to military equipment. Our clients have so far included water and heating companies, as well as food producers.

How does it work?

Ice flakes have sharp edges and when pressed through the pipes, they cut off the sediments, biofilm, and everything else that does not belong there, without damaging the pipes and shut-off devices.

  • Ice slurry is produced in an ice factory using clean drinking water.
  • Slurry is transported to the site with an ice distribution system that is built on a truck.
  • Ice slurry is pumped into a section of the public main between two hydrants (or other connections), which is isolated from the rest of the pipe using sectional valves.
  • Slurry ice is pushed through the pipe hydraulically, using water pressure.
  • Used slurry ice exits through the hydrant or other connection and is discharged into the sewer system.
  • The maintained pipe is flushed and the water quality is assessed using monitoring equipment.
Disinfection service for water pipes

Disinfection and air-scouring

We offer a disinfection service for water pipes that involves:

  • filling the pipe with a disinfectant solution,
  • leaving the solution in the pipe for at least 12 hours,
  • flushing the pipe until there are no more residues of the solution in the flushing water.

Air-scouring is performed using a hydro-pneumatic method.

Still waters run deep for a cause – if you are concerned about the quality of your drinking water, get in touch.

Together, we'll find a solution.
